Our Story

Discovery

In 2014, co-founder Alex Benko owned and operated a large hosting company that encountered persistent challenges stemming from brute force attacks.

During this period, a plugin known as "Limit Login Attempts" existed to aid in website protection.

Unfortunately, the plugin's author discontinued updates in 2019, prompting Alex and his lead developer, Guriy Harborov, to embark on the development of an updated iteration—Limit Login Attempts Reloaded.

Development

The plugin swiftly garnered attention from notable hosting companies, such as GoDaddy, who recognized its efficacy in safeguarding their websites.

By 2021, the number of active users had surpassed 2 million, parallel to the escalation in the severity of attacks.

As a result, in 2020, the team introduced a premium offering aimed at providing an additional layer of protection.

Planning

Greg Fisher joined forces with Alex and Guriy, assuming responsibility for marketing and user expansion.

Leveraging Amazon cloud technology, the plugin employs advanced IP intelligence capabilities to identify, counteract, and deny suspicious IP addresses.

Within a relatively brief span of time, the company has successfully cultivated a premium subscriber base exceeding 5,000.

Their primary objective remains centered on establishing their position as the preeminent login security plugin within the WordPress ecosystem.
